Relocation Readiness Program focuses on ensuring that support and assistance are available for Soldiers and Family members moving to or arriving from another military duty station. Newcomer Orientation is offered bi-monthly; all newly assigned personnel need to attend (Spouses are encouraged to attend). Soldiers/Families relocating to new duty stations have access to information to help them plan successful moves.
Other relocation services include:
- Guidance/Counseling, Extensive preparation and planning before the move, during the actual transfer and while settling; cultural adaptation services for bi-cultural Families.
- Individual PCS Planning, One-on-one consultation for anyone needing assistance. In particular those making their first military move, first overseas move, or those with challenging and complex situations such as special needs family members or financial problems should call the Relocation Program for an appointment.
- English as a Second Language, You learn to accentuate your English speaking kills. Classes also teach you how to express yourself in a better manner as you meet others.
- Lending Closet, Household items loaned to Families awaiting shipment of their household effects.
- Sponsorship Training, Training units, sponsorship program trainers, and/or sponsors.
- Scrapbooking Classes, Adapting to the Military Lifestyles. Use your creativity and enjoy a relaxing time preserving and creating an interesting way to present your favorite photos. Classes offered at the ACS Bldg. twice a month on a Wednesday.
- Mini Library: In support of the Army Family Covenant books on Family issues and self-help. At ACS, Bldg. 1019, Buchanan Heights.
- Information about Puerto Rico: Flyers and places to go.
- Computer Resource Center: Internet research for housing, jobs, schools and much more.
- Other Classes such as: Chocolate Making Class, Cooking Class, Military Spouse Spa and others classes during the year.
